DESCRIPTION

A captivating blend of Schubert and sexual repression, Michael Haneke's provocative psychodrama stars Isabelle Huppert as Erika Kohut - a withdrawn piano teacher living with her domineering mother. Her carefully controlled life starts to unravel when she meets a young man who starts romantically pursuing her. Adapted from Elfriede Jelinek's novel of the same name, this iconic work of European arthouse cinema won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival when it premiered in 2001, as well as Best Actress and Best Actor awards for Huppert and Benoît Magimel.
